LOT 37 GRAND CENTRAL STATION BADGE

(Item: CAT75/LOT037)

GRAND CENTRAL STATION ASSISTANT STATION MASTER – black enameled letters on gold dome style cap badge.  Hallmarked, E.G. Clover Co Successor AM.Ry.S.Co. New York.  The Grand Central Station was built in 1871 by Cornelius Vanderbuilt.  A new building called Grand Central Terminal officially opened in Feb 1913.  Given the “Station” designation this badge would be from the original which helps to date it.  Harder to find and certainly a rarity this is missing some enamel but overall very acceptable.

MINIMUM BID $150
