Railroad Memories

CONCORD RR BRAKEMAN -  black enameled letters on nickel rectangular cap badge with holes in each corner to attach to a hat.  Manufactured by J. Robbins Boston this early and very scarce badge is pre 1889 as it became the Concord & Montreal at that time.  The 4 holes allowed for actually sewing the badge to the cap as opposed to the brad or braid attachments used in later years.  The two line J Robbins Hallmark dates it as pre 1873.  Very acceptable condition considering the age with original black enamel still present.  An early & scarce offering sure to please the lucky buyer.
